Sand in Sand Season Dune Fields

The sand in dune fields generally comes from the surrounding mountain ranges. It gets then transported through sort of intense rainfall events through canyons. And that's where the sand starts to accumulate. Most sand is composed of quartz, feldspar and Pyrogzine. These are stable minerals which don't weather very quickly so they survive effectively.
