The History of Harrods
Harrods is one of the world's largest department stores. It covers 1.1 million square feet, which is about 14 football pitches. The story of how it came to be started in 1824 with a 25 year old man called Charles Henry Harrods. He ran various small shops selling cloth and groceries in south and east London for almost 25 years. Then in 1849, 25 years after starting, the fate of Harrods changed when he was caught by police receiving stolen goods.
