I've Covered Wars.
War is hard. Militaries don't advance even when they have overwhelming superiority. The united states faced that in afghanistan from the taliban, a ragtag bunch of people who were not getting forty billion dollars from the united states for weaponry. Even in a case where there's symmetry between the two sides, it's very difficult to take territory. And you see these military experts talking about this war as if war is easy. They are so highly either paid to say whatever they have to say, or they have amnesia.
