The Risk of a Bank Run

A bank run is technically something that could happen to any bank because all banks have their money in circulation. The issue was that where they were keeping their savings, which is overwhelmingly in bonds. These are long-term bonds, they're not liquid, right? And so when you have a run on the bank, you don't have the money on hand to pay it off.
