Carthage - The Lost Knowledge of the Roman Senate

The remains of an archive thought to have contained wills and business contracts were found in the burnt-out temple of Apollo. The papyrus document was rolled up and string wrapped around it, before a piece of wet clay was placed on the string to stop the document from unraveling. Carthage was indispensable to Rome because of the central role it had played in Rome's rise to imperial greatness. It would just be rewritten by Rome.
