The Politics of Incitement
Mike Downey: Context matters. If I know that you murder people for money, Mike, and then I say, man, I really wish someone would kill my husband for money, then I've committed an overt act potentially. And where I think David French sees it is like, yes, well, the context is he knew there were armed people in the crowd. He's telling them like, this is your chance. We all use war-like language, violent type language in metaphorical fashion. But we don't want to start saying that that's incitement now.
