What Drew You to Global Macro?

I thought about trading tech stocks. The other thing that would be a really natural fit for me would be algorithmic trading because, you know, I understand the software engineering aspect of it and everything. It was reading Jack Schwager's Market Wizards books to try to figure out what needed to be automated with computers where I could do something that drew on my skills. And so it's interesting because I am just absolutely hooked on global macro. But I've actually had more success trading in terms of making money, doing things that have more to do with pattern recognition in the term structure of the futures market.
