The Birds' Next Single - A Time of Love, a Time of Hate
Jim Dixon objected to what became the birds' next single, for reasons that come from the same roots as the Heinlein novel. A short while earlier, McGwin had worked as a guitarist in a ranger on an album by the folk singer Judy Collins. Terry Melcher disagreed, and forced the group through take after take, until they got what became the group's second number one hit.
