The Importance of Having a Baby on Your Back

I don't want the homestead to feel separate than my kids. So I try to include them in everything I can. And a lot of times that can look like giving my toddler a job, just making him feel like he's valuable and a part of what I'm doing. The baby is always on my back, whether we're trimming hooves or pulling a lamb. Once you get in a rhythm with it, it doesn't feel so intimidating. But I do think that that would be different if I had something like cattle because I wouldn't feel safe with my toddler walking amongst the cattle as she's so much smaller.
