EP 74: Tom Randall on Patience, Finger Training, and the Late Night Climbing Show
The Nugget Climbing Podcast
How to Make Long-Term Gains With Finger Strength
I'm wondering if there's a way to have finger strength as a priority over a very long term, like a five year plan. How much time would be required to really make those lasting gains that you're describing versus just tapping into the neurological thing and getting a quick bump? So I'd say it was going to very roughly ballpark it in the times of the year where you're kind of putting in more dedicated training time.
Tom Randall is one of the Wide Boyz, and the cofounder of Lattice Training. We talked about Tom’s cellar, meeting Ollie Torr and starting a coaching company, how he and Ollie trained each other's weaknesses, having patience, key shoulder exercises, hangboard principles, stories from the Late Night Climbing Show, and Tom shared his insights into my own finger strength journey.
