The unholy three was a spectacular return to success for browning. The movie made a lot of money, and m g n optioned him for several more pictures. His next two pictures, the mystic and the black bird, did well, but nothing near the level of the unholy three. Really started to evidence the early s that would eventually manifest into film freaks.
