Isaac's Idea, Son, You Must Not Marry Outside the Covenant
The book ends with rebecca turning to j to isaac, saying we have to do something for this covenant son, jacob. Then 28 begins with verse one: "Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of canaan" In other words, you must not marry outside the covenant. When you just start with 28, that sounds like isaac's idea. The covenant is so important, son, you need to marry within it. But it was rebecca's idea first and foremost.
