The New Mindset for Platform Engineering
The platform engineering team is not only a set of tools and technologies, but it's also some sort of amalgamation of the network team, storage team, infrastructure team, security team, maybe the build team all lump together. It becomes very interesting how quickly we start to as an industry make everything we do a combination pizza hut and Taco Bell. And then what also tends to happen is, well, you know, like DevOps wasn't good enough so we needed DevSecOps and then we needed FinOps. The hard part is when you are actually working with the companies who are responsible for building those applications, maintaining those applications - they're not there yet.
