George Remus's Divorce

In 19 17, congress had passed the eighteenth amendment, a constitutional ban on the manufacture, sale or transportation of alcohol. The volstead act went into effect at one minute past midnight on nuary seventeenth, 19 20. George believed prohibition struck directly at immigrant communities who had different views on drinking than the government and americans who supported the temperance movement. He vowed to run a boot legging operation that was part legal business and part criminal empire. And he would look to business titans like d Rockefeller for inspiration in creating his own brand of moonshine.
