Is Space Exploration a Good Idea?

Space exploration is a very unique perspective from which you can do a lot of very worth while things. But it isn't going to ever fulfil the kinds of things that have been promised, even from the early days, and from science fiction. It's people who understandably see something tat they think they can make a contribution to,. And try and get money to do it, and get as far as they can. Of course, science fiction never said this is going to happen.
