Tim Sanford is the Vice President for Litigation in the Goldwater Institute. He says Isabel Patterson, Rose Wilder Lane and Ayn Rand wrote books that basically started the modern libertarian movement. The three women were friends and they decided to kind of push back against the New Deal. They considered themselves individualists who didn't believe in government as a savior or protector figure.
