The Bite of Conscience

The conscience is not the superego. Conscience bites regretfully, like it doesn't want to hurt you but disapproves of you. Superego only pretends to be concerned with right and wrongan the a fair situation in which there's no need for punishment. The consciences wants to be forgiving, but it's not going to forgive until you've turned. That's very different than t super ego.
