Wisdom Literature - The Uncomfortable Structure
When read in a single sitting, the instructions of a manimope lack any engrossing narrative structure. At its worst, the whole genre is a broken record player skipping relentlessly back and forth between the same five or six grooves with minor variations in volume and pitch. Wisdom literature lacks a coherently unfolding structure, unapologetically using quantity and reiteration rather than logic and deduction. These texts are organized in a way far different from a modern novel or newspaper. It's part of their unique power and their unique challenge.
