The Christian Front and the Brooklyn Boys

The Christian front in New York really did make bombs and stockpiled a huge amount of weaponry, including military issue guns and explosives. It was not a hoax. The good news is that the arrests of the New York Christian fronters in 1940 may have stopped them from going ahead with their attack plan. But the prosecution itself really was an abject failure. After the Christian front defendants all walked, the federal government faced this brand new reality - the threat of actual violence from ultra-right groups.
