Ernest shackleton is born to an anglo irish family in the green, leafy village of kilcea. He joins the merchant navy as soon as he's out of school and secures himself a place on the national antarctic expedition. How did shackleton and his crew travel to such a dangerous, remote and uncharted part of the world? And more importantt with rations running low, their ship now irreparably crushed, and no hope of rescue how will they make it come to tell the tale)?
