The Importance of Perceiving the Essence of God
Aquinas: It's just not possible for us to perceive the essence of God directly. So we can reason from the principles that are more obvious to or towards God. St. Thomas Drossa says we cannot so much say what God is as how God is not. We're in the position of kind of reasoning back to God from the things that we observe in the world.
