The Melchizedek Priesthood in 1827
In 1827, the disciples of Christ from which many early members of the church converted had developed its own priesthood doctrines. This is kind of like foreshadowing. We're doing this because this is really important. Sidney Rigdon would have heard about the Melchizedek priesthood from Alexander Campbell before the Mormon Church or the Book of Mormon was created in any way.
