Apple is developing glasses that let you see a video of the world around you. The technology allows them to do much cooler things in terms of adding digital elements to their world. It's how magic leap works for example but it's very hard because those wave guides are hard to make work. And so what Apple is doing here is saying why don't we master the experience and then we'll figure out later how to make the technology more mass usable.
