The Mongol Empire and Its Peoples
The mongols helped create this kind of class of widely travelled, sophisticated merchants and officials. There was tremendous cultural exchange. Trade was extremely lucrative, especially fora sort of multi lingual, cosmopolitan people. The mongols adopted mostly turkish rit and they intermixed with turkis peoples, a turkish spread. So rather than mongol fying most of the empire, instead, it continued to turkify.
