Their lusts raise up a cloud, which, until god subdues by the holy spirit, they be dark. Yea darkness itself. Goshen was light only when all egypt was in darkness. So there is light only in the church, and all other parts in the world are in darkness, as wicked men are darkness. So gracious men, by the spirit of god, are made lights of the world, by him who is the true light, christ himself. Sib says that there is a veil in all things. And it really connects to what the apostle paul writes in second corinthians three, 16, where he says that when a person turns to the lord, the veil is taken away. Now i want to remind our listeners, omaha, as we close here, that our intent in this episode of the justingang paw cast was not to argue the merits or demerits of specific denominations. I want to make that clear again. We are not here to broach that topic. Either for or against any particular denomination. What we've endeavored to do in this episode is to discuss the matter of denominations that are attempting to accommodate a culture that innately stands in opposition to the god that certain protestant evangelical denominations purport to represent in the world. That's what we've been endeavoring to do in this conversation, in this episode, to address the matter of denominations that arguing that we should accommodate a culture that stands in opposition to god. Now, the biblical mandate of any evangelical denomination is to support truly biblical churches in advancing the gospel of jesus christ throughout the world, so that the veil of unbelief is removed from the minds and hearts of unrepentant sinners such as you and i were at one time. Omaha, yes, yes. At one time the veil was over our hearts,

god, in his grace and mercy, removed it. The nineteenth century english theologian john charles ryall, j c ryall, lays out that mandate as follows in his classic book titled holiness, in the chapter titled the cost. By the way, listeners to the just thinking padcast. Know this ver, but in the same way that you have such a respectful reverence for doctor rc's rc sproll's book on the holiness of god, i have to recommend again j c ryell's book, holiness. If you have not yet read it, you have got to get that book and read it and read it and read it again. I think i probably have 80 % of that book memorized, i've read it so often. Boral says this in holiness, in the chapter titled the cost. Please listen closely. If we desire to do good, let us never be ashamed of walking in the steps of our lord, jesus christ. Work hard, if you will, and have the opportunity for the souls of others. Press them to consider their ways. Compel them with holy violence to come in, to lay down their arms and to yield themselves to god. Offer them salvation ready, free, full immediate salvation. Press christ and all his benefits on their acceptance. But in all your work, ral says, tell the whole truth. Be ashamed to use the vulgar arts of a recruiting sergeant. Do not speak only of the uniform, the pay and the glory. Speak also of the enemies, the battle, the armor, the watching, the marching and the drill. Do not present only one side of christinity. Do not keep back the cross of self denial that must be carried when you speak of the cross of which christ died for our redemption. Explain fully what christianity entails. Entreat men to repent and come to christ, but bid at the same time to count he cost. J c ral from his book holiness and the chapter title, the cost. In other words, omaha. And i will close with this. What ral is urging us to do, in other words, is exhorting us and warning us, nd urging us to preach and proclaim a gospel that the culture does not want to hear, about a saviour in whom the culture does not want to believe and about a cross that the culture does not want to bear. That's a gospel that is not cultural, but is fundamentally countercultural.
