Clearly loneliness is a multifaceted multifactorial multi factorial issue and of course there is not just one solution but a key theme is connection and caring for others which makes us feel purposeful. There's a few sites something called collective effervescence which is a term I love which is the joyful intoxication we get from doing things with another person. And I wondered for our listeners can you recommend some easy steps towards this as we ease out of the

pandemic. I feel a lot that we can do to help ensure that moving forward this is a less lonely world. First we can put our phones down more and be more present with those around us really make an effort to do that. We can break out of our digital privacy bubbles and take off our headphones and actually engage with those around us whether it is the postman or neighbour or somebody who we can see is visibly lonely. Be more grateful in general and say thank you more whether it is to our friends, our partner or even our Alexa. We can commit to doing more with others especially with people who are not like ourselves. So let's make this the autumn of reconnection. We all deserve it.
