"I'm glad you kind of went next door instead of like, you know, 2000 miles away," he says. "My dad was really, he was really prominent in Columbus ... He did a lot of stuff with the city." His father got killed when he was two and his uncle came down to shoot him at the restaurant where he was playing. The singer's mom sold her restaurant so that she could move them all to Atlanta.
