How to Support Ultra Local Radio Stations
What could be done to help more people plug those gaps as the BBC and actually big commercial groups sort of retreat to the regional? It's a bit of a regulatory and funding mess at the moment because you have different licenses for about four or five different sorts of local audio sources. So sorting that out in a regulatory fashion would be a good start. And then to allocate the public funding in a more equitable way, it seems to me foolish that you've got one station fully funded to provide a half-hearted regional service.
