Learning Music From Charts
i learned a lot of stuff by ear, which is great for jas, obviously. But the gap was, i couldn't read a chart very well. Having to learn music quickly from charts was something that i was gaining from music school. learning lots of repertoire, not just standards, more difficult tunes,. having to just at least face them. I may have understood the very basics, right? But there was a lot of nuances, a lot of extra things that i didn't really know.
