Bruce's Dilemma
Singer/songwriter Bruce Springsteen was "drunk on a tangent" when he recorded his first album. He didn't have any money to pay for the recording process, which left him with no choice but to mix it himself. The singer chewed spearmint gum and aluminum foil in an attempt to stay awake while mixing - causing electric shock. John Landau's performance saved the day by releasing the album before springsteen could master it.
