The Origins of Megalithic Constructions in Britain

There must have been a strong belief in abstract benefits to motivate people to put such hard work and effort into the construction of chmonuments. It is interesting to note that a solid, y standing stone, which we refer to as a menhe, was placed near to the cromlick of the almendris roughly in the direction of the sunrise at the winter solstice. So there does appear to be a connection between megalithic construction and the activity of the sky. The purpose of these megaliffs has to be for ritual purposes. We can only see such levels of effort in some of the decorative clothings of individuals buried at various sigts across eurasia
