Introduction
Last week, the TDSB became the first school board in Canada to recognize cast-based discrimination. Caste is one of the world's oldest systems of social hierarchy and stratification. The Seattle City Council voted last month to become the first jurisdiction in North America to ban caste oppression. Today we're talking about it with Ottawa-based reporter Uday Rana,. We'll also look at how cast-baseddiscrimination is impacting Canada's South Asian diaspora.
