The Swedish Police Are a Threat to the Hostages
Psychologist Neil's beer-rot has an idea. What if we bring a family member into negotiate with Yana Olson? So they fetch his brother. Only it isn't Yana Olson's brother. The police thought he was someone else. They had brought it in the wrong brother. Every time the police intervened, the risk to the hostages increased, not decreased. It is not at all uncommon for hostages to feel as though the police are potentially a threat to them. If the police in their mind come in with guns ablaze, are they going to be caught in a crossfire?
