The Differences Between Stoicism and Buddhism

There's 99% of the time there's no kind of difference and the self doesn't really play a role in either so interestingly I think in my 2020 stoa con talk on it's nothing to me a reappraisal. The Buddha has a suit where he goes through what are called the five aggregates which are the Buddhist model of how to break down a person or whatever that's a logical experience. And his conclusion is that since you can't do anything you want you don't have complete control over form or the body, then that's not a self. But this is a very tiny small sphere of what you are. Epictetus seems to have a very similar definition of what
