The Metaverse
There's a cynical take on this metaverse thing that it's just the last and a long line of overhyped, under-delivered technology fantasies akin to self-driving car boom. Facebook, Nvidia, Microsoft, Epic, Unity are all over this. These are also the companies that were pimping virtual reality just a couple of years ago. The utopian vision of a kind of connected world and happy communication where we can all live together in these online 3D spaces looks more like the dystopia of science fiction.
