Bernadine Wallace spent a month in lockup for posting a threatening message on the internet. Former juvenile inmates who had been pawns in the judge's scheme to get rich waited anxiously for the trials to begin. They waited for anything that could make sense of what had happened to them. Mark Schoverrell's trial began in February 2009. He denied allegations that they accepted cash in exchange for locking children up at private facilities.
