Muselini's Use of the Colosseum as a Symbol
The story of spartacus became meaningful at a time when people were talking about, you know, maybe the aristocratic aletes don't know everything. And so muselini is using that, but he also uses antiquity in general a to buttress his political system. The things he does as he has an urban renewal project where he basically raises part of the city to create a new street which will connect the colosseum to the forum and to the monuments. This is called the via de fori imperial a, the street of the imperial forums.
