I think World War I was very unplanned, but I do... Oh, sorry. Well, I guess the thought I'd have is that none of the people in those chance series before World War I intended World War I,. They actually thought they were either making their country safer or leading to peace. And on the whole, social liberals who want societal change and you're worried about the poor are by then believers in a big state. Now how did that come about? What point does the left suddenly say they want a big state, not a small state? And I think it's mostly Marx's fault. But anyway, there's a moment when suddenly the left says actually in economic terms
