Evan Geriskovich, the Wall Street Journal Who Was Arrested in Russia Earlier on Spying Charges, Is in Good Spirits
Evan Geriskovich was arrested in Russia earlier on spying charges. His case has been classified as top secret, but prison inspectors saw him last night and said that he's in good spirits. It is a really worrying development, because I think before this happened, foreign journalists in Russia thought they maybe had a certain level of protection from the authorities. Perhaps foreign journalists wouldn't suffer the same kind of measures, the same danger, the same repression as Russian journalists, too.
