The Color of Menstruation

I love the way that the character talks about menstrual and blood. It felt very true to something. There's sort of these later moments where society sort of clarifies how things should be treated. I suppose she's at that point where you have your own... As a child, it's a common thing among parents, isn't it? You don't put it in your own words anymore,. Your own words start to be replaced by a sort of a general script generally. And that's something that I'm very conscious of and always have been as a writer.
