Is There a Barrier of Proof on Seaweed Farming?

We don't understand as much about seaweed as we do about traditional crops. It can take years and tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of pounds to actuly get a seaweed farm in the water. The barrier of proof that there won't be a negative impact is particularly high. Up to 50 % of the byo mass can actually fragment down to the ocean floor when it it fetually becomes long term sequestered. There are no carbon credits available. If that were to then change, and policy were to change withit, it would suddenly make the unit economics much more attractive.
