E m, you'v writen a lot about the city as a kind of am palamsest of sort of associations. When you're projecting yourself back into a time before you were walking new york streets, is that a different kind of personal thing for you? And so i can use that kind of new york feeling to animate parts of carney, and then i i was not around in the early sixties, and i think with underground, i sort of learned some good skills about research and stuff like that.
