The Power of Hope
Moses Momenides argued that hope is a belief in the plausibility of the possible as opposed to the necessity of the probable. One thing I find among the many excuses people have for inaction is that sense of what's going to happen if they don't say that the future has already been written, is already preordained. And so I think possibility rather than probability is partly about knowing it's worth trying even if it doesn't seem what is likely to happen but also that you can make things happen.
