Margarita's at the Mall

The next song after Snow is falling Manhattan is Margarita's at the mall. The voice the narrator says how long can the world go on under such a subtle God and also with no new word from God? It feels like I wrote here, but I thought of the mall as some kind of weird purgatory as sort of being in between things.
