The Case of Charles Bigby
Charles Bigby lost his leg in a car accident and was left unable to work. He sued the woman who hit him, Leola Roberts, for $25,000 out of court. The case dragged on for years until it finally ended up being heard by the California Supreme Court. President Ronald Reagan singled out Charles Bigby as a recounted cases of so-called frivolous lawsuits that threaten the economic fabric of America.
