He said there's a chance that we could have some kind of softish landing, but he doesn't know how high the probability is. The reasons he thought that he'd be able to get rid of inflation so quickly was because he claimed that it's new. And again, we have had inflation for a long time. It just that the public wasn't complaining about it for a longtime because it was in this extreme. If it wasn't for c e one and c e two, the great recession would have been much greater.
