Niger is the world's fourth largest uranium producer and a strategic supplier for Areva, this French energy company. One out of every three light bulbs in France is powered through nuclear power that is largely due to Nigerian uranium. In Niger, nearly 90% of the population has no access to electricity. This situation cannot continue.
