How Much Does Metabolic Adaptation Impact Weight Loss?

If you lose a pretty substantial amount of weight and fat mass, you should anticipate at least some degree of reduction in your metabolic rate. A study by martins and colleagues found that people who experienced more metabolic adaptation did lose less weight over the course of this intervention. An increase in matabolic adaptation of 50 calories a day was associated with a lower weight loss of only half a kilogram. And so just purely based on the numbers, there s very clear to see that even the people who experienced pretty substantial metabolic adaptation, you would still look at this and say, you had a very successful diet here.
