"I was in a dark place. I didn't know if I wanted to continue with my surgery training," Dodas says of his early days as a surgeon. "At one point, I went like 93 days without a day off ... just 93 consecutive days." He's now the chief of trauma surgery at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Hospital.
