The Golden Tail Won't Be Too Big a Deal
I wouldn't recommend over allocating to gold because it is a defensive asset and its purpose is only to create a little bit more stability in your portfolio for your drawdown phase. If you can choose your tax lots later, the chances are you'll be able to minimize taxes that you pay on this if it's in a taxable account. And it is sometimes nice to have an asset that essentially does nothing. Sometimes nothing to do real cool hand.
